According to research by Arbitron and Edison Research, “awareness of the service [Twitter] was high, at 92%, but just 8% of consumers ages 12 and up said they had ever used it.”
Bottom line, while it’s tempting to focus on using Twitter to market to your target audience, you must remove your blinders and think holistically when developing your plan of attack.
